Job Descriptions:Interested in joining a progressive company? We seek to fill a Manager of Accounting Operations role that will be responsible for serving as a lead accountant for TS Banking Group and its affiliates. Primary duties include maintaining an accounting system that properly reflects the financial position of the group. Responsible for assisting with day-to-day accounting functions of TS Banking Group and affiliated entities. Strong critical thinking skills are required. Work is performed within the framework of standard operating policies and procedures; however, independent judgment and discretion is required in performing assigned tasks. Education and experience preferred: Possess a four-year college degree from an accredited university or institution with the major area of study in Accounting; minimum of two years of professional accounting experience. Experience in public accounting with exposure to real estate, investment fund and/or financial institution industries preferred. Certified Public Accountant preferred, but not required.Required Experience:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Play an integral role in the accounting and finance functions including, but not limited to: merger and acquisition accounting and integration, accounting process and policy design and implementation, accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, and fixed asset accounting. Provide accounting insight to the TS Banking Group and its affiliates on a variety of accounting issues. Ensure accounting entries are in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and federal and state banking standards. Assist with preparation of financial reporting for internal and external distribution (ie periodic financial statements, maintenance of fixed asset depreciation schedules, regulatory reporting). Assist with review of expenditures to ensure the propriety of the amount, the appropriateness of the accounting treatment, and the existence of proper authorization. Assist with technical accounting research and maintain internal controls over financial reporting. Assist with preparation and completion of internal and external financial and regulatory audits and income tax filings. Exposure to real estate, banking and investment fund industries, as well as acquisition activities. Complete a variety of special projects. Comply with all banking regulations, policies and procedures.NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Maintain educational and professional expertise through attendance at job related seminars, conferences and workshops and involvement in professional and community groups in leadership positions. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES. There are no supervisory responsibilities in this position. QUALIFICATIONS. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Possess a four-year college degree from an accredited university or institution with the major area of study in Accounting. Possess a minimum of two years of professional accounting experience; experience in public accounting with exposure to real estate, investment fund and/or financial institution industries preferred. Certified Public Accountant preferred, but not required. LANGUAGE SKILLS. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES. Must have the ability to operate the following equipment: personal computer and printer, telephone, 10-key calculator, and copy machine. Must have working knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, and database software programs. Advanced personal computer knowledge in spreadsheet creation of templates and models. KEY CONTACTS--Internal and External Has frequent contact with all internal departments.Has frequent contact with regulators, external auditors, and various individuals at other financial institutions.Has moderate contact with company clients in responding to various inquiries.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS. To effectively perform the job, must have reliable transportation to travel to and from work and other work-related events, meetings, interactions with clients, etc. PHYSICAL DEMANDS.
