Job Description We are a large, international company with our core IT department located in Omaha. We are one of the largest firms in our industry, and we always look for progressively minded people to join our team. We are now looking to hire an exceptional DevOps Engineer to help transform the processes & tooling that facilitate service delivery. This is a highly technical role that will be responsible for designing and implementing tools, pipelines, and workflows which perform software builds, tests, and releases. Additionally, this role will liaise with project management, development, operations, and business teams to help foster a DevOps culture throughout the organization. Salary up to $120k + benefits. Successful candidates should be well organized, self-motivated, and possess outstanding communication skills. They should have a high propensity for learning new technologies and be very accountable in the duties that they perform on a daily basis. They should work well within a high-paced, diverse, and dynamic team environment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Design and implement pipelines to execute builds, tests, and deployments · Implement tooling to automate cloud and on-prem infrastructure · Develop and support Chef Cookbooks for software and OS configuration · Assist with supporting Git/VSTS workflows · Work with other teams to ensure DevOps requirements are being met · Foster a strong DevOps culture throughout our group. · Identify and implement automation for processes that are currently manual · Identify areas of improvement and opportunities for next-generation technologies · Manage and prioritize multiple related projects, including troubleshooting, operations, and maintenance of the enterprise in a team environment QUALIFICATIONS: Essential Functions: · Experience with configuration management tools, such as Chef and Puppet · Experience with CI/CD tools, such as TeamCity, VSTS, and Jenkins · Experience working with modern RESTful web services and frameworks · A working knowledge of modern scripting/automation languages, such as Python, Ruby, and PowerShell · Familiarity with Windows and Linux administration fundamentals · Use effective verbal and written communication skills · Develop a complete understanding of applicable company policies and procedures and plan and execute the assigned work in accordance with those policies and procedures · Lift and carry heavy items weighing approximately 50 pounds · Work off-hours when required · Identify workplace safety hazards and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize them · Produce quality work, meeting requirements of company policies, procedures and industry standards · Set exemplary standards of ethics and stewardship of corporate resources · Support company philosophies, policies, practices and procedures Secondary Functions: · Experience with Azure and other public clouds is a plus · Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus · Work well within a team environment · Communicate all essential information to senior leadership, co-workers, and employees · On a daily basis, promote and maintain effective public relations · Maintain professional and technical skills · Promote quality and demonstrate professional behavior · Act at all times in accordance with our Purpose Statement and Core Values · Be willing to travel on company business as required by position and as directed · In addition, perform any other job-specific duties as required EDUCATION: · Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience · 5-7 years of experience in the IT field or in a related discipline · 3-5 years working with DevOps, CI, or release-related technologies · 1-3 years working with server and enterprise-related Company Description At Insight Recruitment we specialize in the placement of Information Technology (IT), Biotechnology & Life Science, and Executive professionals in all varieties of industries & disciplines.
